Domain Monetization

The monetization of domain names essentially means to generate an income through your domain. There are multiple options available to the domainer in order to monetize his or her domain names.

The simplest form is to simply acquire a domain name with existing traffic, this traffic could come from:

- Direct type ins - web users typing the domain address directly into their browser.

- Residual traffic from a previous website that was built on the domain name but no longer exists.

- Existing links to the domain name from other sites on the internet.

- Traffic from bookmarks and social networking sites.

- Search engine traffic.

A landing page is then created for the domain name and advertising/affiliate links are then displayed.
